How much gravel will I need?
One of our landscape staff will visit your project to calculate the amount of gravel required.
As a rough estimate, and area 5m x 5m, with a 40mm depth will take 3 bulk bags. But ultimately deciding how much gravel you require will depend on the use of the area and any other determining factors such as drainage etc.
How do I prevent weed growth?
To prevent weeds from sprouting through your gravel, we would lay a weed prevention membrane. Place this on smooth, compacted ground. The sheet can easily be cut to fit the shape and size of your gravelled area.
The Landscape Fabric Weed Prevention Membrane that we use is either 50gsm or 90gsm depending on area usage. The Fabric weed prevention membrane allows water to drain away from your gravelled surface, whilst also preventing weeds and grass from growing through the gravel.
Will the gravel move?
Gravell will naturally move and sometimes you may notice sparse spots, this is very easily remedied by raking.
