Resin Bound
Resin Bound is a process of coating a mixture of crushed Shingle, Quartz or Granite with a clear UV stable polymer resin ensuring that each grain is coated; this results in a cold-pour mixture that is spread across the prepared area to form a smooth, porous surface with no loose stones.
A POROUS SURFACE – NATURAL DRAINAGE
Resin Bound surfaces allow water to drain through; acting as a sieve and allowing the water to flow naturally into the water table. This type of driveway reduces the risk of flooding, so you are assured that your property has extra protection. For information purposes, Resin Bound Systems are compliant with SuDS (Sustainable Underground Drainage Systems) Regulations.
A SURFACE SUITABLE FOR ALL REQUIREMENTS
The smooth, tough finish of a Resin Bound drive or patio makes it very user friendly. Touch enough to park a car on but smooth enough for a pushchairs, wheelchairs or children’s toys. Resin Bound Driveways are unlikely to crack. One of the most significant benefits of this type of driveway finish is that the colour remains true in sunlight, so your driveway will look stunning no matter how bright the sun is shining!
Resin Bond
Unlike Resin Bound, Resin Bond is loose. It is sprinkled over the driveway and set into the Resin. However, particles may become loose over time, Resin Bond may not be as durable as Resin Bound, but it is a low-cost alternative that does improve the appearance of your driveway.
Resin Bond provides Anti-slip Driveways that make it ideal for the entire family. Once the driveway has set, there are no loose stones, and the driveway does not require a lot of maintenance, just a regular gentle pressure wash.

What colour is the Bound resin?
The resin we use is a clear UV stable polymer, this ensures that the aggregates retain their natural appearance.
How long after installation can the surface be used?
This is dependant on the usage and the ambient temperature. Typically the curing time is 5 to 7 hours for foot traffic and 48 hours for vehicles. We will guide you on the day of installation regarding curing times.
Should an edge restrainer be used?
A suitable edging restraint will be specified using brick, stone, concrete, steel or aluminium as required, to ensure that a neat and tidy finish is provided and that edges are protected from splaying.
How long will the surface last?
Anticipated life expectancy, dependant on project and substrata.

What are SUDS? (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems)
SUDS are a range of techniques that aim to mimic the way rainfall drains in natural systems. Many drainage systems that already exist can cause some problems of flooding, pollution or damage to the environment and are not proving to be sustainable in the long term. Resin Bond and Bound conform to the SUDS regulations.
